The Words
i yearn for the words
that will touch the soul,
for the words that will
change the world.
i look to the man on the soap box
but he has no words for me.
i turn to the politicians
the priests
the monks
still they have no words for me.
my ears ache with the
words that aren’t right
the ones that feel cold
when i listen.
there’s something about
their words that don’t
seem right.
i keep searching for these words
the words that will enlighten me
hold me
warm me
heal me.
and then i find the words.
words for my ears only
the words that touch my soul
that change my world
the right words.
I love you.
that will touch the soul,
for the words that will
change the world.
i look to the man on the soap box
but he has no words for me.
i turn to the politicians
the priests
the monks
still they have no words for me.
my ears ache with the
words that aren’t right
the ones that feel cold
when i listen.
there’s something about
their words that don’t
seem right.
i keep searching for these words
the words that will enlighten me
hold me
warm me
heal me.
and then i find the words.
words for my ears only
the words that touch my soul
that change my world
the right words.
I love you.
