Just an experiment I've been working on for a few days when I had spare time. I'm surprised my scanner actually got anywhere near the actual color of the real thing because it has the tendency to screw up the colors.

Anyone else like s'mores? :)

I really like this a lot =X Just all of the colors and the little details throughout! The stars are my favorite though, lol. They're really cute! icon Although, I love the sun's border [and its eye actually]!

Really cute, creative piece!

Oooh, this looks like something from a children's book! It's really pretty and creative!

<3

that is ridiculously adorable and creative and cute and quirky and... LOVE!! XD marshmallows!!

I hate s'mores D:. CHocolate makes me hurl D:

BUT I do like marshmallows and graham crackers :3. So jummy :3

Very nicely coloured!

  • Reyn May 27, 2008, 1:54 pm

What was this colored on?

  • Ruina May 28, 2008, 7:52 am

Looks as magical as always! Gives a feeling of warmth!

I LOVE s'mores. I actually just had some at a notecard-burning party I had with my friends to celebrate the end of junior year. Yum. icon

Ha ha, but anyway, lovely and cute as always! I can pick your stuff out from a mile away, I swear. You have such a unique way of using colors, and your art is always just so... stylistic, I guess? Gosh, just so cool! icon icon icon

I hate chocolate, so I just eat the marshmallows and grahm crackers. Oh so dericious.

And this picture is just STUNNING.

*\o/* YAY

I love the thighs! And the shoulders and the hands! And the feet! And the tail! AND THE FACE and OMG THE HAIR icon and the eyes! icon icon

Wow..I find it disturbing that I fancy someone with a tail and weird feet quite this much. I knew I was open minded but this is ridiculous. It's all your fault! You just can't help being sexy, damn you! icon I love the balance and the shape of this and somehow having the tail disapeer off page for a moment only makes it look more realistic and strong, sort of stiffer. Oh dear, I am not explaining myself very well. Basically I like it!

This is really cool. I'm strangely fascinated with the shoulders in this for some reason, lol. I think it's the way you worked the shading with them? And the look on his face is icon And the eyes certainly have it.

Now I wish I knew more about art/drawing XD

  • OQM May 01, 2008, 2:34 pm

Very cool design for a character and beautifully rendered as well :)

  • Ruina May 03, 2008, 8:20 am

Hmm ... the contrasting yellow and blue came out a tinge to stark in the scanning. Perhaps I'll try a photograph next, but I'm lazy ... :O

Anyhoo, it was "collage time" in my evening art class ... during which I successfully avoided doing any collage whatsoever. Yay. b^__^d

Good gods, girl! Lend me your watercolor talent!

The colors in this are absolutely beautiful and I love your methods of fading in and out features...just enough to show form but never enough to crowd the work.

Brilliant, m'dear!!

<3

This is so gorgeous, I love the washed out look of watercolours! I really like the lavendar figure behind the girl, and the one in red on the right. XD Ahhh traditional media~~ <3 There should be more on Ochiba!

  • Reyn Apr 23, 2008, 2:14 pm

It's art like this that tends to amaze me the most.

PS - I love the title XD

Aww the title describes this picture very well. The size contrast between the little girl and her surroudings is great.

LOL mara you sneaky devil, well what can i say i LOVE the colours and feel here! such a greats style :3

  • OQM May 01, 2008, 2:37 pm

Your art always has a way of jumping out to me when I see it in the art section. I love how the texture comes through and the bleeding effect.

i'm running out of words to say, mara hahaha. each time i say the same thing. man. MAAAAN!!! ;____________; you made me go speechless again~

/just faves with glee instead ;3; <333

Oh this is so cool *_* I really like it, and not just because green is my favourite colour XD love the swirls icon

This reminds me a bit of the green man that you find carved in english churches, a pagan survival. Really interesting, original character!

How come I never saw this earlier o_O. I like it a lot, especially the snake beard, of course. I think it's interesting that his face looks rather young as well.

Very interesting use of colors and the swirly lines are wonderful <3

  • Ruina May 03, 2008, 8:37 am

Your art glows. Amazing.

I love the colors icon the freckles are also a nice touch. Your style has matured so much OQM, it's really impressive how much it has evolved. Oddly enough, the book I'm reading right now had this amazing painting of the head of Medusa, so seeing snakes in this work triggered a 'ooh ahh oh' response. I particularly like the open mouthed one.

Coolest. Thing. Ever. The design, the colors, the freckles! Gorgeous and awesome! Thems some badass beardsnakes.

GOOD! I'M RATHER FOND OF HIM AS WELL~ lolol want to know more on him! *A* such a nice green monochrome-ness~~ *3* <3

I love Pet Shop of Horrors and this definitely has that sort of feel to it :D I love how you used the colored inks and the little touches here and there. Beautiful work!

  • Rammy Mar 24, 2008, 3:51 pm

Tatem; those flowers and just the coloring is AMAZING.

I love using stars and moons as motifs in my works, so this sort of thing is right up my alley :) I do hope you draw they story in the future, it sounds intriguing.

I like how you use a wide variety of mediums and you are really skilled in all of them.

  • zheida Apr 05, 2008, 10:58 am

the glowy stars are amazing. :0

  • Reyn Apr 23, 2008, 2:17 pm

The overall setting for this is interesting. Like...the bit of gore in the middle is a bit shocking compared to the sort of 'sweet dreams' colors in the rest of the picture.

awww, i'd love to see this put into a story! i love colorful dark type of stories! XD really nice job with the the color pencils! *Q* <3 i wouldn't be able to do this well at all XD; /so used to CTRL+Z lolol but yeah~ so refreshing to see nice and talented traditional artists! X3 <3

I'm working on designs for bookmars. I love working with acrylic paint. Yes, it does look like watercolor - which is intentional.

I really admire your creative range and your ability to work adeptly in various mediums. The sakura petals are beautiful, and the long fingers and neck give your work that Asiatic flair which fits your title.

beautiful, i love the colours here!

  • osaru Mar 23, 2008, 1:33 am

I love this~ It's reminiscent of old asian paintings, but still feels rather modern :D

  • xlory Mar 23, 2008, 7:37 am

Awww pretty

  • N3L Mar 23, 2008, 2:14 pm

Wow. That's funny. I've seen someone who used watercolor so that it looked like a very thick paint. XD
Anyway, this is rather lovely and delicate. The pinks make it very feminine and soft, along with her thin fingers and pretty face. Very pretty,.

Oh wow, this is absolutely stunning I really like the way you colored it.

Indeed it does look like watercolour ... I used to do that with acrylics, too, though not intentionally. icon
All blues purples and pinks, but nicely balanced and well varied. Very decorative.

  • OQM Mar 24, 2008, 3:36 pm

That is quite interesting how you made the acrylic look like watercolor, but I like it. I can't wait to see more bookmars!

  • aelfa Mar 25, 2008, 1:37 pm

Really beautiful work!

Maybe I should photograph my watercolours instead of scanning 'em ... the colours never come out right and I can't seem to correct them properly.

Uh, yeah, working on settings and props and all that. Or, not really working that hard right now, but trying to include it, at least. b;____;d
My sister thought he looked like Kaneda ... but she's crazy. In her defence though, this was not completely uninspired by mr. Otomo ... I try to keep one of the Akira volumes home at all times, and hope that the library doesn't miss 'em too much.

very nice! I like the use of watercolor. It is just so serene and defiant at the same time!

  • xlory Mar 22, 2008, 11:54 am

This is just gorgeous!!!!

  • myvan Mar 23, 2008, 7:18 am

It's the way his hair slants over to the right.. and possibly the old-school Japanese little boy from the fields outfit :9 (but in your defence.. that outfit also fits your boys mightily well.. <3 total love on the blond boy with the gun from back then). But those slim limbs are yours alright. The red banderolle might also remind me of that one 'La vita

interesting negative space I love people who can work with watercolors <3

  • OQM Mar 24, 2008, 3:37 pm

I can't ever get colors right when I scan my marker drawings, they always end up looking really dull and blurred.
But anyways, I love thiiss. His boots make me jealous.

well this is plain awesome , -hummpsmara-i love the vastness of the sky, your watercolours are very good :) lets collab again soon :)
