I think the shading you did is great... and a wonderful job on the lines using the pen tool too! Only one suggestion for your next one! What I normally do with lines is stroke it with a 1-2 point brush and then do a stroke in a larger brush "simulating pressure" so the lines look less systematic and more natural... but I really think this is very cute and well done! I'm envious of the coloring!

both howl and calcifer came out so adorable here <3 i love the coloring job! <3

Yay for Christian Bale and Howl's Moving Castle!
Waai, so cute!! I love his bright blue eyes and golden hair. Calcifer is sooo adorable here!! His eyes are like <_>. Hahaha, I love it.
I like how the grass and sky are at that angle, it gives the picture a real ... spherical feel!
I really like the jewel, too ... so pretty and sparkly! Just like Howl's eyes.

HOWL! yes, I love him >3<

this is so adorable!! I love the soft colors, especially the clouds and grass in the background; they make me want to go out in the field and take a nap XD and I agree, calcifer looks great in this! nice job, keep experimenting and trying new things~ :)
