I hail from the Land of Lincoln, but I never really had to consider the man much until very recently, a result of dissecting my fat civis. Most people regard him unquestionably as a hero now, but in his own time, he was reviled as a heartless, evil villain. But he wasn't a hero, or a villian. He was just a man who tried to do what was right and it cost him everything.

This chair is at the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit. I was surprised to see the blood stains are still there, but I think it's appropriate that they remain.
